Who is Jutlandia Terminal?
Jutlandia Terminal A/S is a privately owned port logistics company based at the Port of Esbjerg. We mainly serve the oil, gas and wind energy industries in the North Sea, as well as other onshore and offshore customers who need professional port logistics.
We specialise in the complex: large project shipments, offshore chemicals with strict documentation requirements, wind turbine projects with narrow time windows and port calls that require 24/7 standby and precise coordination. Our strength is that we can bring it all together under one roof and with one point of contact.

Health, Safety, Environment and Quality
HSEQ
Jutlandia is certified to ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety). These are not paper certificates, they are the framework for how we plan, carry out and evaluate everything we do.
Our HSEQ approach is built on one basic principle: if we cannot carry out a job safely and responsibly, we do not take it on. That principle applies on the quay, in the chemicals facility, in the crane and in the office.
We continuously monitor our processes, carry out regular audits and invest in training our employees including GWO certification of stevedore supervisors and ISO 23813 certification of lifting supervisors. Our Lighthouse platform gives customers live updates on port calls and stevedoring operations.
Vores historie
Jutlandia Terminal's roots go back to 1975, when the Svarrer family built the first of our warehouses at the Port of Esbjerg together with ØK (the East Asiatic Company).
For 50 years, the company has developed in step with the Port of Esbjerg — from importing citrus fruit and veneer timber to complete port logistics for the North Sea's oil, gas and wind energy industries.

1874
The Port of Esbjerg is built
The decision to build the Port of Esbjerg was taken in 1868, because Denmark had lost the port of Altona following its defeat by Prussia. With the loss of Altona, Denmark needed a new port facing west.
1884
J. Lauritzen is founded
J. Lauritzen is founded in Esbjerg by Ditlev Lauritzen as a timber trading company.
In 1888, Ditlev Lauritzen sees new opportunities in shipping and acquires his first steamship.
1914
J. Lauritzen moves to Copenhagen
After a very active contribution to the town and port of Esbjerg, Ditlev Lauritzen moves the company J. Lauritzen to Copenhagen.
In 1918, the shipbroking business J. Lauritzen Esbjerg is sold and taken over by Consul A.C.M. Schmidt.
1930
J. Lauritzen's Eftf.
The company changes its name to J. Lauritzen's Eftf. to avoid confusion with the shipping company J. Lauritzen in Copenhagen.
1935
A.N. Svarrer joins the company
In 1935, Anders Nielsen Svarrer is taken on as an apprentice. After completing his training in 1939, he travels abroad to work, returns to Denmark and then works in Copenhagen for a number of years.
1952
Back to Esbjerg — A.N. Svarrer becomes co-owner
In 1947, A.N. Svarrer returns to Esbjerg, and in 1952 he becomes co-owner of J. Lauritzen's Eftf.
1968
A.N. Svarrer becomes sole owner
Shipowner A.N. Svarrer takes over J. Lauritzen's Eftf. as sole owner.
Knud Svarrer, son of A.N. Svarrer, joins the company after completing his shipping education.
1973
A modest start — the beginning of JUTLANDIA Terminal
J. Lauritzen's Eftf. Skibsmæglere is converted into a public limited company, A/S J. Lauritzen's Eftf.
In the same year, a stevedoring and warehousing company is launched in partnership with Alfragt A/S. It later becomes JUTLANDIA Terminal ApS.
1974
A new generation — Knud Svarrer takes over J. Lauritzen's Eftf.
After the death of A.N. Svarrer, his son Knud Svarrer takes over the company.
1975
Jutlandia Terminal is established
JUTLANDIA Terminal ApS, consisting of 8,400 m² of warehouses and 40,000 m² of outdoor storage, is officially opened.
1979
New premises at the Port of Esbjerg
J. Lauritzen's Eftf. moves into new 1,100 m² offices in the middle of the Port of Esbjerg.
1980
The first job as an offshore base
JUTLANDIA Terminal gets its first job as an offshore base in partnership with J. Lauritzen's Eftf.
1986
Full ownership of JUTLANDIA Terminal
J. Lauritzen's Eftf. takes over JUTLANDIA Terminal ApS as sole owner, and the company is converted into a public limited company (A/S).
1988
Co-ownership of Seaport Stevedoring
JUTLANDIA Terminal A/S becomes co-owner of Seaport Stevedoring.
2004
Full ownership of Seaport Stevedoring
Jutlandia takes over 100% ownership of Seaport Stevedoring.
2010
A new generation — Kasper and Kristian Svarrer take over
After Knud Svarrer's death, his sons Kasper and Kristian Svarrer take over.
2011
Modernising the company: Our office building gets a makeover
A general modernisation of the company begins. The office building at the Port of Esbjerg is renovated and refurbished inside and out.
2011
The first set of values - Jutlandia's values
The first set of values is drawn up and introduced at Jutlandia and its sister company Lauritzen in 2011, with the message "The future belongs to the happy!" At first, the values focus on internal communication between employees, but they are updated in 2014 and again in 2017 to address our employees, our customers and our responsibility in the world we live in.
The values are embedded in the company: in every situation, we try to contribute to our own happiness and that of the people around us.
2014
Seaport Stevedoring becomes part of Jutlandia
Seaport Stevedoring and all its services become part of Jutlandia.
In the same year, Jutlandia takes over Esbjerg Frysehus.
2018
A new board is formed - major strengths added
The board is expanded and a new chair is appointed. The board now includes some of the country's leading business figures, who are responsible for the company's overall strategic direction and advise the executive management.
